The World Congress on Greening Buildings 2026 in Berlin is a three-day event on all aspects of green buildings (roof, façade and interior greening) with the associated topics (including urban climate, rainwater management, sustainability, city of the future). 

The congress will be accompanied by a trade exhibition. 

On the third day of the congress, there will be the opportunity to take part in excursions to special projects in Berlin.

The World Congress is organised by the Bundesverband GebäudeGrün e.V. (BuGG) with the support of international and national partners such as the European Federation of Green Roof & Wall Associations (EFB).

Green plants help to cool our concrete cities, act as a buffer against heavy rain, improve air quality and make our lives healthier. Now we need to ensure that people experience these benefits first hand – starting at their own front doors.

My Ministry promotes this goal with the Federal Action Plan on Nature based Solutions for Climate and Biodiversity. For example, the Action Plan supports local authorities that want more green instead of concrete. That is a win for climate action, public health and precautions against extreme weather events.
